OUR PROVIDERS


Dr. Dana Distler was raised in Lexington Kentucky...the daughter of two professors at the University of Kentucky. After completing her undergraduate in Behavioral Psychology, she attended the University of Kentucky School of Medicine. She completed her internship at the University of Kentucky Medical Center in Internal Medicine-Pediatrics and went on to complete her Pediatric Residency at  Kosair Children’s Hospital. Dr. Distler has served her local Pediatric community through numerous committees at Kosair Children’s Hospital including the Medical Executive Committee and Governance Committee. She has served as President of the Medical House-Staff. Her areas of interest include behavioral psychology, adolescent medicine and dermatology. She is married to Dr. Mark Distler and they have three children. Her hobbies include being a clinical instructor for several colleges and universities, training and working with therapy dogs, cooking, tent camping, playing the piano, skiing and hiking.


Dr. Mark Distler is a native of Louisville where he was raised as one of four boys; three went to St. X and the other to Trinity.  He attended the University of Louisville for his undergraduate degree in biology, chemistry and philosophy. He received his medical degree from U of L and went on to complete his Pediatric Residency at Kosair Children’s Hospital.  He was recognized with the Pediatric Cardiology Award and also served as Chief Resident. His love of nature is exemplified through his acquisition and subsequent donation of Kentucky woodlands into a conservation easement thus protecting this forest from any future development.  His passion for the environment is manifested in his collaboration with an environmental architect in designing a completely "off grid" solar lake house.  He is married to Dr. Dana Distler and they have three children, an older female and a set of boy-girl twins.  He loves basketball, both playing (before twins) and watching (after twins), and is a die-hard Cardinal fan. Suzanne Woods, CPNP was born and raised in Cincinnati, Ohio. In 1992, she received a Bachelor’s of Science in Zoology from the George Washington University while playing 4 years of Division 1 Soccer. She then went on to complete a Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing at Howard University in 1996 and a Master’s of Science in Nursing from Stony Brook University in 2005. Suzanne has over 13 years of Pediatric Nursing experience. As a Nurse Practitioner, Suzanne has worked in both Primary Care and Pediatric Oncology, as well as faculty at Austin Peay State University in Maternal-Child Health Nursing Curriculum where she received an outstanding teaching award. Her clinical passion is lactation counseling. She is married to Major Johnny Woods and they have two daughters. After traveling around the United States with the U.S. Army, the Woods have decided to retire in Louisville to be close to family. In her spare time, Suzanne enjoys watching her oldest daughter compete in gymnastics meets, spending time with family, sports and scrapbooking.
